Dr. Rachel Knowles founded Seedlings Nutrition to improve health outcomes for her patients and help them reach optimal health.  As an autistic person, Dr. Knowles specializes in clinical nutrition for autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and common co-occurring conditions.

Dr. Knowles is a doctoral graduate of Maryland University of Integrative Health, where she completed her studies in clinical nutrition.  She is an adjunct professor at University of Western States in the Doctor of Clinical Nutrition and Master of Science in Human Nutrition & Functional Medicine programs and Purdue University Global in the undergraduate holistic nutrition program. Dr. Knowles serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Nutrition Professionals and previously served on the Education Committee for the National Association of Environmental Medicine, and is actively involved in clinical nutrition research and scientific writing. 

Dr. Knowles is a board-approved CNS supervisor and runs Supervised Practice Experience for candidates working to obtain their Certified Nutrition Specialist credential for licensure.  She is a co-founder of Herbal Wellness Institute, an online herbal immersion program for healthcare workers and herbal enthusiasts.

Dr. Knowles is married, a mother of two boys who are both on the spectrum and has two dogs.  She enjoys traveling the coast with her family, deep sea fishing, writing, and painting.
